Join us and participate in DIRECT DEMOCRACY!
The Asheville City Charter states that a citizen initiated ordinance (local law) can be put on the ballot for everyone to vote on.
All we need is petition signatures from 15% of Asheville’s registered voters.
We have 1 year from February 1st, 2019 to collect those signatures.

What Else Can I Do?
Volunteer on the Petition Team
Petition signatures – on paper – don’t collect themselves. Each month there is an awesome team of humans working between 4 and 15 hours each to make it all happen.
If you are interested in being part of this roving band of amazing individuals please come to our next WHAT CAN YOU DO? Meeting.
Make a Donation
We are a volunteer run organization without grant funding. We rely on donation from individuals in support of our work. The petition campaign is as low-budget as we can make it. We need money for printing, reimbursing our volunteers for gas money, paying stipends to those who work the most hours each month and paying for advertising so enough people are aware of the campaign
Personal Petition Challenge
Are you ready to commit to personally collecting at least 15 signatures? Ask your friends, co-workers, neighbors – anyone who is a registered voter in the City of Asheville.
